There are some items that are displayed on a shelf. This one opens.

When closed, it shows the spine detail, textured cover and clean lines as a bound volume. When opened it shows an interior that is complete and made out of brick. This is a 2009 version of this set which transforms a display shelf into something that people will pick up and ask about.

The design is worthy of careful study. The hinge mechanism will be required to bear the weight of both halves, and the covers must also be even when closed, which you'll see how to do as you build it. The detail itself is not flat but multi-leveled; depth added on multiple planes so that the opened spread appears as a true scene as opposed to a wall of tiles.
